Career History

  • 1992-Present:
    Developed and Incorporated Consulting Practice specializing in Strategic Planning, Systems development and Credit Packaging. Evolved into educating management teams for privately held, family owned companies including advisory Board Membership, using teams and problem solving techniques along with financial & organizational diagnostic tools.  Chapter President of Nat'l Assoc. of Corp. Directors and former member of the Turnaround Mgmt Assoc.
  • 1989-1992:
    Held various consulting-turned employee positions with various sized companies  ($10 Million - $3 Billion in sales)
  • 1976-1988:
    Former CFO for Idaho's largest exporter with over $100 million in sales, Divisional President in IT related industries (Software/Hardware).

  • Helped many governing Boards, comprising of family members and independent directors, to reduce their conflict regarding direction and leadership
  • Formed Advisory Boards to improve management succession planning implementation
  • Developed several business models for emerging E-Commerce enterprise seeking VC Funding, updated financial systems and reporting
  • Facilitated the succession plan, and helped implement the turnaround of a third and fourth generation manufacturer; resulting in the election of a new president, the regeneration of sales to a growth rate in excess of 10%, and a product development process creating 5 new patent filings in less than 5 months.
  • Implemented a strategic plan, and trained the board of directors of an internationally known, Family owned business.  The results included conflict resolution, a functional board of directors, and the development of a new, non family management team that is penetrating into new growth markets with new products and services
  • Developed new MIS Systems, internal Board of Directors, and reformatted Financial Statements for a $20 million Energy Company;
  • Mentored a new COO for a $100 Million Retailer
  • Mentored a CEO for a $120 Million Auto Dealer
  • Implemented a "Turnaround" plan with a company in Chapter 11
  • Implemented the MIS and Financial projects of a TQM process/re engineering effort for a $25 million high-tech Manufacturer of EMI's;
  • Secured additional funds with a complex financial structure, increasing available credit by $1 million, implemented new cashflow forecasting systems, TQM team-based Structures, financial reporting, and New MIS acquisitions for several $15MM+ & $25MM+ Building Material and manufacturing companies
  • Developed a Strategic and business Plan for a software developing company;
  • Implemented a new Financial reporting systems for a  retail carpet company to attract new funds or credit; Developed and secured $1.5 million Commercial Mortgage, and $1.1 Million LOC, developed and implemented several strategies that have improve gross profit margins by over 10% for a high growth company, Implemented a TQM Team- based management structure with performance measurements and bonus programs
  • Implemented a financial and Internal Control restructuring of a $10MM Company to reposition it for an ESOP
