  • We hired PTCFO to help us develop a board, as I was selling out my stake of the partnership and wanted good governance processes to ensure I got paid. I was tired of running the company. My Partner was to remain with the company and assume my duties. What I soon discovered by working with PTCFO, was how quickly they work. I was amazed with how quickly they identified our strengths and weaknesses in order to put a strategic plan together. In three months, I saw the growth potential, by having a management team to create growth. I rediscovered my excitement in the business and am now holding on to the company, but working in a new role that makes me wake up and work again.

  • I’ve known PTCFO for some time, but did not clearly understand how they worked. My father started the business, and with his passing, I now own all the stock. I and the organization were struggling with his loss as well as trying to grow and stay profitable while dealing with a very nasty market condition. Many of my competitors are now gone.   • "Jack, you and your team lit a fire with me and motivated me to get this CEO Succession done….  and done right.  However I did not want my fingerprints on the selection because I wanted to preserve the family relationships in the event my son was not successful.  When I met you for the first time, I was terribly concerned because I love my children in the business and to chose one, the other, or someone else would be a very hard thing for me and my family.

    After working with you towards this end, using your survey and retreat process, and the team building training to deal with the issues, I followed your advice.
      I set up this process….  We changed bylaws to allow 7 people to serve on our Board.  Following your suggestions, I presented 4 candidates to my family members and we started them off as Advisors.  Chemistry was good and their input was valuable so we elected them to the Board.   As you said, they proved valuable through the recession because they preached that we needed to react quickly and decisively in the downturn, things your team's training prepared us for.  As a result, when I called you to help us with the cost reductions, you advised us to use our teams.  Our teams found TWICE the amount I was looking for ($4 million) and we only had less than a 10% reduction of the staff!  The board is about to select their final candidate and I am now separated from the process so I can keep my family together and the business as well.

  • My law firm was struggling with partnership conflicts, lack of performance, and my succession.  My peers and myself were nearing retirement and there were concerns the next generation would not be able to sustain the practice.  We asked PTCFO to help us improve our communication, work out the partner and associate conflicts, and move the firm towards revenue growth and practice development.  Some of the discussions PTCFO, Inc facilitated were difficult and emotional.  Jack and Susan were adept in managing the discussions, heal those who were struggling, and motivated the next generation of partners to step up and become the rain makers they needed to be.  From their work, the partnership is still intact with changes, and we have acquired new partners to expand our locations and services.  Conflict has dropped significantly and people are much happier now, including me!  Just ask my wife!
